In 1981 Ed and Lorraine Warren take on a case in Connecticut based on the real murder trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, who claimed that he acted under demonic possession. Michael Chaves directs, with James Wan staying on as a producer, and Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga return in the lead roles. This is the third film of the main series, and unlike the first two it is not a haunted-house story.
