Why there is no exact date yet

MGM+ has not officially announced either a year or a premiere date. Ukrainian Wikipedia confirms the renewal for a fifth and final season, with no date. Filming of the new season began only in July 2026, so any exact “date” without a link to MGM+ is a guess. We do not calculate the premiere from the gaps between seasons: they have varied, and more than a year and a half passed between the premieres of the third and fourth seasons.

Who is in the cast

The series was created by John Griffin, and its executive producers include the Russo brothers and Jack Bender, who directed the first four episodes. The lead role of Boyd Stevens, the self-appointed sheriff and de facto mayor of the town, is played by Harold Perrineau. The ensemble also includes Catalina Sandino Moreno, Eion Bailey, David Alpay, Elizabeth Saunders, Scott McCord, Ricky He and others. Wikipedia does not yet list the full cast of the fifth season. According to Wikipedia, critics praise the story, the directing and the performances, especially Perrineau’s.

What the series is about, without spoilers

From is an American science fiction horror series. It is set in a nightmarish town somewhere in the US: anyone who ends up there cannot leave. The residents try to survive, because every night terrifying creatures come out of the surrounding forest, and at the same time they look for secrets that will help them get out. At the center of the story are Boyd and the Matthews family, who have just been caught in this trap. The series is filmed in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, and the opening titles feature a cover of “Que Sera, Sera” by Pixies.
