adventuremonsterssci-fi

An American submarine reawakens Godzilla, while a pharmaceutical company captures King Kong to use him for promotion, and the two giants are bound to meet. Ishirō Honda directed the film for Toho, with special effects by Eiji Tsuburaya. It is the third film in both the Godzilla and the King Kong franchises, the first Toho production featuring King Kong and the first time either character appeared on film in colour and widescreen. Shoichi Hirose plays King Kong and Haruo Nakajima plays Godzilla. A heavily re-edited “Americanized” version was released in the United States by Universal in 1963.
