Maigret is a British crime drama based on Georges Simenon’s novels about Jules Maigret, written by Patrick Harbinson and first shown on PBS Masterpiece in the US in October 2025. Unlike earlier adaptations, it is set in the present day. Benjamin Wainwright plays the young, unconventional Chief Inspector Maigret, a rising detective who heads the serious crime unit of the Paris Police Judiciaire and cares about getting the right result, not just a result. Stefanie Martini plays his wife and confidante Louise, a psychiatric nurse, and Nathalie Armin plays by-the-book prosecutor Mathilde Kernavel.

In Maigret, Chief Inspector Maigret and his team of maverick but loyal detectives, Les Maigrets, solve a series of complex crimes in Paris. Maigret's unconventional methods and unique sense of justice put him at odds with his superiors and the judicial system he is supposed to represent. Maigret must outwit some of Paris's most cunning and violent criminals, while dealing with his own troubled past.
