The story takes place on the fifteenth anniversary of the original Woodsboro murders. Sidney Prescott returns to town after ten years, and Ghostface once again begins killing students of Woodsboro High. Wes Craven directed Kevin Williamson's script; Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette and Emma Roberts star. The film makes fun of the clichés of remakes and comments on social media and online fame. Filming took place in and around Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 2010, and Dimension Films released the film in the United States on 15 April 2011.
